HOW TO ADD PRESENTATIONS
Internal doc: How to add presentations to this site
Adding Presentations to This Site
Regardless of whether we are sharing the presentation with others, we need to keep a complete list of all presentations where AirFire members are co-authors (whether given by AirFire or not).
Sharing the Presentation File
If you want to share the presentation, read this step, otherwise, skip down.
Convert the file to PDF. Powerpoint files are just too big and have too many other drawbacks to share directly. Rename the file to:
YYYYMMDD_Presenter_MEETING_Short_title.pdf
e.g.
20081214_Larkin_AGU_SEMIP_an_invitation.pdf
Upload the file into the PDF folder. To do this:
- click on the Contents tab on the green editing bar (you need to be logged in)
- click on the "pdfs" folder
- Select "File" from the "Add new..." drop down.
- Add you file with a title similar to how you renamed the file but replacing "_" with spaces
Adding the Presentation to the List
The main list is the default view of the Presentations folder. To edit it, select the Presentation folder on the left nav listing. Click "edit"
Add you presentation in a similar format to the ones already there. Note that the list is reverse chronological. If you are sharing the presentation file, make the title of the presentation link to the file.
The list is formatted like:
